Austin’s Memorial Foundation was established in 2021 in honor of Austin Venable who tragically ended his own life on Aug 11, 2020.
Austin was a talented hockey player and beloved member of the Jacksonville Youth Roller Hockey (JYRH) league. His contributions to the league extended beyond his skills as our goalie, as Austin encouraged camaraderie, tolerance and fellowship among his teammates.
The JYRH family created this foundation in order to commemorate Austin’s generosity by creating a legacy in his name. The foundation seeks to help kids who require financial assistance so that they may participate in Austin’s favorite sport, roller hockey.
All funds raised by the Foundation are used to offset the cost of JYRH league registration fees or will be used towards the purchase of equipment and uniforms.
Jacksonville Youth Roller Hockey (JYRH) has been serving Jacksonville area for over 30 years. This league is managed entirely by volunteers who want to share their love of roller hockey in a family friendly setting.
Many of the coaches and referees began their journey as youth players and graduated into leadership roles. JYRH offers year-round participation with 3 competition seasons each preceded by training clinics.
Our home court is the Skate Station in Mandarin.
All funds raised are used exclusively to offset the cost of participating in this sport
